Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
Welcome to Scentsation.no. The website is operated as a small personal hobby business with limited scale, capacity and operations. The purpose is to share a passion for fragrance through the sale of perfume samples, fragrance samples and decants.
By using the website or placing an order, you accept these terms and the other policies available on the website. If you do not accept the terms, you should not complete a purchase.
Note: Although Scentsation is operated as a hobby business, we aim to act responsibly and follow applicable rules for consumer purchases, withdrawal rights, complaints and privacy where these apply. Nothing in these terms limits the customer’s mandatory rights under applicable law.

3. Use of the Website
You agree to use the website in a lawful and responsible manner. You must not misuse the website, attempt unauthorised access, copy content without permission or use the website in a way that may harm Scentsation.no or other users.
4. Products
Scentsation.no offers perfume samples, fragrance samples and decants. The products are intended for personal testing and fragrance discovery.
Minor variations in colour, fill level, label, packaging or appearance may occur, especially because the products are handled and packed manually in small-scale operations. Fragrance experience is subjective and may vary from person to person.
We try to describe the products as accurately as possible, but we cannot guarantee that all information is always completely error-free, complete or up to date.
5. Brands and Intellectual Property
All trademarks, brand names, product names, logos and images belong to their respective owners.
Scentsation.no is not affiliated with, authorised by, sponsored by or an official representative of any mentioned perfume houses or brands, unless this is expressly stated.
Brand and product names are used only to identify the fragrances offered as samples or decants.
6. Prices and Payment
All prices are stated in NOK. Scentsation is currently not VAT registered, and prices are therefore shown without separately specified VAT.
Shipping costs and any other costs will be shown before payment where relevant. Payment is made when placing the order through the payment methods available in the online store at the time of purchase.
We do not store complete card details. Payment information is processed by the payment provider.
7. Orders
When placing an order, you confirm that the information you provide is correct and complete.
We reserve the right to cancel or reject orders in cases of obvious errors, technical issues, incorrect pricing, unavailable stock, suspected misuse or other reasonable grounds.
Because Scentsation is operated as a hobby business with limited stock and manual handling, some products may sell out or become unavailable without prior notice.
8. Delivery and Shipping
- Orders are normally shipped within 1–5 business days after ordering.
- Domestic shipping within Norway is normally sent with Posten and tracking.
- Posten Small Parcel: NOK 76, insured up to NOK 2,500.
- Posten Large Parcel: NOK 140, insured up to NOK 10,000.
- Free shipping: Applies to orders over NOK 969 within Norway.
- Tracking is normally sent by email and/or through the Posten app.
We carry the risk for the goods until they have been delivered to you. If the parcel is damaged or lost during transport, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number, tracking number and any relevant documentation.
In the event of approved damage or loss, we will consider replacement or refund. Carrier claims may take time and may require the customer’s cooperation.
9. International Shipping
International orders are shipped with tracking where available. Once the parcel leaves Norway, it is normally handled by the postal service in the destination country.
The customer is responsible for any customs duties, import fees, taxes and local charges. Such costs are not included in the product price or shipping price.
For international consumer purchases, withdrawal rights, complaint rights and other mandatory consumer rights apply where required by applicable law. For deliveries to the EU/EEA, the right of withdrawal applies to unopened and sealed goods where the law grants such right. The hygiene exception applies to opened, used or unsealed perfume samples.
10. Right of Withdrawal, Returns and Complaints
Scentsation follows applicable rules on withdrawal rights and complaints where these apply. Please see our separate return, withdrawal and complaint policy for full information.
10.1 Right of Withdrawal
- As a general rule, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days after receiving the goods.
- The period starts on the day after you receive the last item in the order.
- The right of withdrawal only applies to unopened and sealed samples.
- Opened, used or unsealed perfume samples cannot be returned for hygiene reasons.
- Custom-made products, such as special decants or mixes made according to the customer’s specific request, may be excluded from the right of withdrawal.
10.2 Exercising the Right of Withdrawal and Self-Serve Returns
A withdrawal notice may be submitted through Shopify’s self-serve return and cancellation function where available, by email to scentsation.no@gmail.com, or by using the standard withdrawal form.
If you exercise the right of withdrawal, the goods must be returned no later than 14 days after you notified us that you wish to withdraw from the purchase. The customer pays the direct return shipping cost, unless otherwise agreed or the return is due to an error on our part.
10.3 Refunds
For an approved withdrawal, we will refund the payment without undue delay and no later than 14 days after receiving your withdrawal notice. We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back, or until the customer has provided proof that the goods have been returned.
The refund includes reasonable standard shipping, but not additional costs if the customer chose a more expensive delivery method than standard delivery. Refunds are normally made to the same payment method used for the purchase, unless otherwise agreed.
10.4 Complaints
- If the goods have a defect, such as the wrong item, damage, incorrect content or goods that do not match the description, you may have the right to make a complaint.
- The complaint must be made within a reasonable time after you discovered or should have discovered the defect.
- A complaint is always considered timely if it is submitted within 2 months after the defect was discovered or should have been discovered.
- For this type of goods, the complaint period is normally 2 years after the customer received the goods.
- Contact us at scentsation.no@gmail.com with your order number, photo/video and a description of the issue.
For approved complaints, we may offer repair, replacement, price reduction, refund or another solution in accordance with applicable rules.
11. Cancellation Before Dispatch
You may cancel an order free of charge until the item has been shipped or fulfilled. Cancellation may be requested through Shopify’s self-serve cancellation function where available, or by contacting us at scentsation.no@gmail.com with your order number.
After the parcel has been shipped, the rules on withdrawal, returns and complaints apply.
12. Free Sample
When purchasing at least 20 ml, the customer may receive one free sample, subject to availability. This offer may be changed, limited or discontinued without prior notice.
13. Privacy and Security
Scentsation.no processes only the personal data necessary to complete orders, payments, delivery and customer service. Personal data is not sold to third parties.
Information may be shared with payment providers, shipping providers or technical online store providers where this is necessary to complete the purchase or comply with legal obligations. For more information, please see our privacy policy.
14. Limitation of Liability
Scentsation.no aims to keep the information on the website correct and up to date, but we cannot guarantee that all content is always completely error-free, complete or current.
We are not responsible for indirect losses, loss of profit, delays outside our control or technical issues caused by third-party services, unless otherwise required by mandatory law.
Nothing in these terms limits the customer’s statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws.
15. Governing Law
These terms and the use of Scentsation.no are governed by Norwegian law, unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer protection laws.
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, this does not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
16. Changes to the Terms
We may update these terms when needed. Changes apply from the time they are published on the website, unless otherwise required by law or expressly stated by us.
17. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
If you are dissatisfied, please contact us first at scentsation.no@gmail.com, so that we can try to find a solution.
If we cannot agree, you may contact the Norwegian Consumer Authority for guidance or mediation: www.forbrukertilsynet.no.
